TAB & Anastamos: A New Collaboration!

TAB: The Journal of Poetry & Poetics and Anastamos—the interdisciplinary journal run entirely by graduate students at Chapman University—announce our exciting new partnership.

Under the direction of Editor Anna Leahy and Creative Director Claudine Jaenichen, TAB will continue to publish its innovative print issue at the beginning of every calendar year. In 2019, Volume 7 will feature original poetry by Ivy Alvarez, Ann Fisher-Wirth, Sonja Johanson, Vandana Khanna, Erika Meitner, Anya Silver, Maggie Smith, and Lesley Wheeler as well as a translation by Ilya Kaminsky and Katie Farris of a poem by Anna Akhmatova. This print issue explores the concept of containment and will be available at no cost at the Chapman University booth at the AWP Bookfair and elsewhere.

In 2019, the online archives of TAB will be moved to Anastamos for a more permanent and more accessible home. The work we’ve published since 2013 will be available on the Anastamos website, and the pdf and mp3 files can be downloaded from the old TAB website until the transfer is complete.

Because Anastamos publishes poetry in electronic issues, TAB will cease its separate online publication with this year’s volume. Poetry at Anastamos will become a collaborative project between our two projects.

We encourage readers, contributors, and prospective submitters of TAB to turn to the vibrant, multi-genre Anastamos in the future. Anastamos is multi-faceted, with a podcast, a library of graduate student work, and a variety of community engagement efforts. TAB looks forward to building additional connections between Anastamos and the work of Tabula Poetica: The Center for Poetry & Poetics at Chapman University. This collaboration is a bold step for both projects.

Together, TAB and Anastamos will be more than the sum of our parts!
